Granusol® WSF as an alternative for the fertilization of raspberries

During 3 seasons we have done fertilization trials in cooperation with PCFruit in Belgium. During those seasons we compared their standard fertilization scheme with Granusol®WSF.

We used two different schemes: the growth scheme (used from planting until fruit setting) and the harvest scheme.

Variety: Kwanza

Density: 3 plants/ running meter

In 2016 and 2017 we used the same combination. We mixed 2 different Granusol® WSF formulations:

Granusol 1 = 10+10+30+6MgO+TE+MV10

We mixed 20% Granusol 1 with 80% Granusol 2 to become a scheme such as the standard growth scheme. For the harvest scheme we mixed 40% Granusol 1 with 60% Granusol 2.

In 2020 we added more micro-elements with Granusol® Microhigh MgO (Granusol 3) and MgSO4.
This decision was made based on the results of the previous trials.

Growth scheme = 58.4% Granusol 2 – 29.2% Granusol 1 – 1.5% Granusol 3 – 10.9% MgSO4
Harvest scheme = 43.8% Granusol 2 – 43.8% Granusol 1 – 1.5% Granusol 3 – 10.9% MgSO4

For the results we took the average off all the years to make conclusions.

Conclusions

Production wise we can say that Mivena fertilization gives 13% more production on average over the 3 years.
The results on fruit classification are very similar to each other. The most important class is class 1 and we have the same figure.
In fruit weight is fruit size Mivena fertilization gives a slightly lower figure. Firmness is also slightly lower. But on Brix Mivena fertilization have a higher figure.

If you want to boost your production, without an increase of quality, Mivena fertilization can be a good alternative.
